In 2020, COVID canceled our Airport Day event. It’s 2021 and now we have another conflict.
We always have a Car Show with our event, and our event is always held on the weekend closest to Independence Day. This year that falls on July 4.
As luck would have it, there is an Indy Car race at Mid-Ohio on July 4th weekend, so the ramp where we hold the car show will be filled with the race car drivers’ business jets, so no room for a car show.
If you’ve been up by the airport lately, you’ve noticed some construction activity. They are constructing a new hangar for Niss Aviation, and their new FBO. There are also construction projects scheduled for this summer that haven’t started yet. This will restrict our access to the apron where we usually park our planes for the event.
Moving the event forward or back on the calendar isn’t really an option for us. The gentleman who runs the car show has other car shows scheduled throughout the summer and the event coordinator for the aviation side of the event has commitments to other events he runs. Due to these issues, we must cancel our Airport Day event again this year. We will be back again in 2022 with our event.
Thank you all for your support and understanding!
